Doing Less.

My business partner in my first startup used to tell me:

Are we worrying about something that hasn’t happened yet?

This is because we started we nothing but a logo, a set of business cards, and a website.

Now I understand, focusing on what truly matters means dealing with the issues that are right here, right now. The number of possible eventualities for any given situation is huge, especially when you are just starting out.

So then there is the temptation to have a flurry of activity, to try and do everything. The antidote is to consciously start doing less. Focus on the activities that really move the needle.

To start, you often need less than you think.

To continue, you also often need far less than you think.
