Why .cc?

Apart from the fact that the .com version was selling for around two years of my earnings, why did I choose the .cc domain name ending?
Well, the .cc is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the Cocos (Keeling) Islands, an Australian territory.
CC can also stand for Creative Commons, which is a set of licenses that allow a creator to make their work available for others to use.
Essentially, everything on this website is freely reusable by anyone, anywhere, with or without attribution. I would prefer my ideas and notes to be useful to as many people as possible, regardless of whether my name is attached or not.
