Why is it never enough?

Pretty much anything that you ever wanted when you were 5 years old you either managed to get or you stopped wanting it.

For me, that was 30 years ago.

I wonder if in thirty more years, the same will be true.

Does that mean that it’s pointless to desire if eventually our desires change or we lose our desires over time?

I think not, because the things we strive for perhaps shape us more than the things that we already have right now.

However, I do wonder why most of us (with the exception of some exceptional people) never stopped desiring. There must be some evolutionary reason why that’s the case.

But the real question is, would we live a better life with the status quo, or if we managed to overcome our desires and just be?
